...WINDING DOWN FROM A BUSY WEEKEND.

Saturday:
Ryan, the girls, and I spent the day on the go-go-go. Waking up Saturday, we ate lunch and headed for Des Moines. The girls needed some new shampoo and Ryan wanted to run into Scheels to get a few Underarmor shirts for summer. I needed to go to Sephora to get a little bit of makeup but we knew I couldn't do that AND allow the girls to go with us because it was so hot (the heat index was in the triple digits). So, I decided I could wait on the makeup and the girls got to come along for the ride. Once we walked out the door and headed for the car, look what we discovered!!

Dezi didn't care much about it, but Bella sure was impressed! The poor little thing must have fallen from his nest because he couldn't fly. I had to get a stick and coax him onto it and put him on the ground so we could take off.

We first headed to Petsmart in search of shampoo. After waltzing around Petsmart for a little while, stopping to answer 300 questions by 300 different people, and getting petted 400 times, the girls and I were ready to get out of there! The only thing we had purchased were bones...we hadn't found any shampoo of any interest and I was ready to try the next place, Petco. We played the same game there, but I DID end up finding what I was looking for...luckily! The girls were so hot all day and DYING in the heat. Dezi was panting non-stop, even in the air conditioning! I felt bad dragging them in too many different places, so I was thankful to find what I was looking for in Petco.

After that mission was accomplished, I thought it best if Ryan just went into Scheel's by himself considering the heat. I didn't want to get tied up in there and walk out to overheated dogs! So, Ryan headed in and the girls and I enjoyed some cold water and air conditioning :). After Scheel's, Ryan wanted to stop at Panchero's to get some food to take home for dinner. It was his favorite place to eat in Iowa City and of course we couldn't pass one by without him wanting one! We stopped there, ordered our food, got the girls some more cold water, and started to head back to town. Anybody who knows me, knows I LOVE Starbucks. Hot, cold, in between..I don't care!! I love it! So, as a treat for the ride home, we drove through there. The girls got "puppy lattes" and I got my latte. Aaah heaven.

Once back in town, the girls both got baths, and Ryan and I showered and ate dinner. After dinner, we popped in a movie we had rented (She's Out of My League, which was actually really funny) and curled up to watch it. It was a hot, exhausting, fun day for the fam! :) Ryan and Dezi even enjoyed their day so much they slept in today until about 2pm!

As always, my favorite quote from the movie:
"If someones in love with you, then you're a 10"

ps-please forgive my poor camera quality on all these photos, I took them all on my cell phone, not my camera.

**THROWBACK THURSDAY**

Tyson, Rachel, and I in 2005 out at Chandler's house.

...READY FOR THE WEEKEND...AGAIN!

Have I mentioned to you all how much I love weekends? I love staying home, I love going out, I love watching movies, I love sleeping in..everything!! No matter what I do on Saturday and Sunday, I love it!!

These past couple weekends, Ryan and I have done two totally different things and I'm not sure which I enjoy more. On the 12th, we headed to Des Moines. Every time I go to Des Moines it seems I have a million errands to run. BUT since I wanted to enjoy our "date" I decided no errands for that day. Simply dinner and a movie!! That is exactly what we did. We at dinner at P.F. Changs and then headed across the way for the movies. It was Ryan's turn to pick a movie and he chose "Karate Kid" which I felt was fair because I actually did want to see it. It was a VERY long movie (I think about 2.5 hours) but so cute!! After the movie, we walked around the little ponds and walkways that were lit for awhile and then headed back home. It was THE perfect evening. Romantic, relaxing, and fun!

Last Saturday, we decided since we went out the previous weekend, we would stay in. Usually our nights spent in we like to cook and rent a movie. Ryan had been wanting pizza and so that made our dinner decision! I, yes I, made spicy sausage and mushroom homemade pizza (his absolute favorite) and we rented Dear John...can you tell whose turn it was to pick a movie this time?? With our bellys full and dishes done, we layed down on the couch to watch a movie. Wouldn't you know that about half way into it, a storm comes brewing in and takes out the electricity?! Go figure. Since it didn't seem to be turning back on, we picked up the house, washed our faces/teeth, and headed to bed. My night time ritual is nothing short of exhausting and poor Ryan had to follow me around with this little tiny flashlight while trying to get ready..that was pretty entertaining!! We layed in bed with a candle lit and talked for what seemed like forever until I finally fell asleep. I awoke to electricity!!

From homemade pizza and a $1 rental movie to a chinese restaurant and $20 dollar movie, my Saturdays have been nothing short of complete opposites. Both nights, however, were amazing in their own sense.

As a closing quote, one thing I took from Karate Kid and have been replaying in my head was a line where he said "A true friend is somebody who makes your life better." Something to think about!!

**THROWBACK THURSDAY**

This is Bella as a puppy. This was the first week or two we had her I believe..isn't she adorable?! The one with her beside my foot is kind of weird, I know this, but it was to show just how small she really was!!

He has been taunting them for days. These videos/pictures are from several different occassions. You can tell he is just TERRIFIED of the girls. He is so scared, in fact, that he doesn't even move when they bark :) hahah.

...A TERRIBLE BLOGGER!!

My apologies on not blogging lately..what kind of a person am I to not keep you all updated?! :)

Ryan and I have been SO SO busy lately, I cannot even concentrate half the time!! We have celebrated a holiday weekend, I started summer classes, we are still trying to decorate our room completely, and Ryan got a new work schedule..thats a lot huh?

So where do I start?? Ryan's work schedule. As you all know, Ryan has been on four days for awhile now. His four days (still over 40 hours a week, just less days) have been in a row and then three days off. Starting this week though, Ryan now works 2 days, has 2 off, works 2, has 1 off. How excited am I about this?! EXTREMELY!!! He now has SATURDAY off!!! I am so so excited I cannot even put into words my excitment!! I have spent every weekend alone, or with friends, for nearly a year now, so having him home Saturday nights will let me have a sense of normalcy for awhile.

As for our bedroom, it is coming along. I will not post pictures yet as it is still not as complete as I hoped, but its getting there. This interior design business takes time. :) I did, however, find this fabulous lamp one day. It not only matches our comforter perfectly, but also the colors of the walls and the furniture..absolutely gorgeous!!

Also for the bedroom, I mistakenly bought this...
Whoops!! There is a grammtical error in it!! It should read "Every day holds a possibility of a miracle" or, as Sarah pointed out, it could say "Every day holds the possibility of a miracle" Either way, "Every day" should be two words. Of course, majoring in English, I could NOT let this slide. So, to make up for my hard work (yes, it took 3 hours to put this up) I decided to email the company that makes this. To my surprise, they were vrey kind and accepted responsibility for the mistake--which rarely happens in today's world!! They said they would send me out a new one if thats what I prefer. So of course, that is what is happening now. So until the new one comes, "everyday" remains an everyday annoyance :)

To go along with the new room decorations, Bella also went from drab to fab!! As many of you know, she does sleep in a play pen. Yes, a child's play pen. She has since she was a puppy and still does. Every so often, more so when she was just a little mite, she has to get a new one. To be honest, they just get kind of gross after a year or so. They are so cheap and getting a new one keeps me sane from all the germs running rampant in there!!

Drab...
Fab...

Lastly, I will be the first to admit, Ryan and I are getting old. We did NOT celebrate Memorial Day Weekend like we should have...or used to!! Ryan had to work and I chose to lay low. Sunday, however, we did decide to go on out to his parent's house and see the family for a little while before everybody headed back home. We got to visit with Sarah and Travis (which doesn't happen often enough) and we got to see his grandparents. His parents and Chyna were also thrown in the mix of people we got to see. Most importantly though...my FAVORITE little nephew was there (he may be my only nephew, but still!)..and he was awake!!! He is growing up so fast and is quite the cutie, isn't he?!

I hope you enojoyed reading this small novel I wrote for you all :) I will try my hardest to keep you updated on a more regular basis, but with summer in full swing..who wants to sit behind a computer?!

...OBSESSED WITH THIS SONG!!

Jewel- "Satisfied"

If you love somebody
You better let it out
Don't hold it back
While you're trying to figure it out
Don't be timid
Don't be afraid to hurt
Run toward the flame
Run toward the fire
Hold on for all your worth
Cause the only real pain a heart can ever know
Is the sorrow of regret
When you don't let your feelings show

So did you say it
Did you mean it
Did you lay it on the line
Did you make it count
Did you look 'em in the eye
Did they feel it
Did you say it in time
Did you say it out loud
'cause if you did hun
Then you lived some
That feeling inside
That's called satisfied

Busy people walking by
Can't help but worry some
With so many things to do
So little love gets done
Empty hearts everywhere
Drowning but dying of thirst
If you want love
It's not that tough
Start by giving it first
It's so easy to give
Baby can't you see
Just close your eyes open your heart
And do what comes naturally

Well did you say it
Did you mean it
Did you lay it on the line
Did you make it count
Did you look 'em in the eye
Did they feel it
Did you say it in time
Did you say it out loud
'cause if you did hun
Then you lived some
That feeling inside
That's called satisfied

Horses are built to run
The sun is meant to shine above
Flowers are made to bloom
And then there's us
We were born to love
