It is THAT time of the year again-finals!! Technically, this week is not finals (next is) but this week is equally as busy if not more hectic! So, I apologize for not blogging lately but I promise, after next week, I will be a blogging machine :)
Until then...
Carrie Underwood's "Change"
What'cha gonna do with the 36 cents
Sticky with Coke on your floorboard
When a woman on the street is huddled in the cold
On a sidewalk vent trying to keep warm
Do you call her over hand her the change
Ask her her story ask her her name
Or do you tell yourself
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
What'cha gonna do when you're watching T.V.
And an ad comes on
Yeah you know the kind
Flashin' up pictures of a child in need
For a dime a day you can save a life
Do you call the number reach out a hand
Or do you change the channel call it a scam
Or do you tell yourself
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
Don't you listen to them when they say
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
Oh the smallest thing can make all the difference
Love is alive
Don't listen to them when they say
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
The worlds so big it could break your heart
And you just wanna help
But not sure where to start
so you close your eyes
Send up a prayer into the dark
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world
Don't listen to them when they say
Youre just a fool
Just a fool you believe
You can change the world
Oh the smallest thing can all the difference
Love is alive
Don't listen to them when they say
You're just a fool
Just a fool
To believe you can change the world

...ENJOYING THE WEATHER.
Aaaah, the weather. Isn't it lovely?
The girls and I have spent several hours outside of as late. With Ryan being gone, we like to go on walks or sit on the deck and watch the tee ball practices across the road. Ryan even got out Dezi's leash that ties into the ground so we don't have to keep an eye on her...she's a wild one :)
Dezi loves staying out on her leash while Ryan and I come inside. She will literally extend it every inch it will go. When somebody walks by or a moped speeds by she gets so excited..it just makes her day.
Bella, the sweet little thing she is, doesnt like to be outdoors, especially not by herself! She will shake like crazy if she's on a leash. She prefers to sit on the deck with me and watch everybody from a distance.
I have yet to plant flowers this spring. I am waiting until school gets out before I dive into that chore. We did, however, have some poison ivy sprout up--lucky us!
So far this spring we have:
-gone on walks
-swept and hosed out the garage
-took the girls to get ice cream and drive around, windows down
-grilled out several times
-mowed the grass too many times already!

...SATISFIED.
FINALLY-I have found a comforter that I like!! The search has been long and hard but I think I have finally found something.
I have looked up and down for a bedding set that I actually like. I have spent HOURS on the internet searching, looked at every site imaginable, and come up with nothing. Finally, about a week ago, I thought I had found something. I ordered it and the drapes came in before anything else. To my surprise, the color was just plain ugly. It looks NOTHING like the picture, at all. So, I called and cancelled the valances and bedding and went on the search again.
Ryan said I am done ordering things offline (because the picture is always so "pretty" and the item is not) so we planned a day to go shopping here in the next week. Well, last night before bed, I decided to look one last time online. And there it was :) I finally found something I REALLY like! So, once again, I ordered something off the internet. It will not come for 5-10 business days (about perfect timing for our bed) so I won't know the true opinion of it until then, but for now, I'm happy!!
No pictures this time, you'll have to wait ;)

...THINKING ABOUT STRIKING IT RICH :)
Today, on his way to work, Ryan text me and told me to go buy a powerball ticket because apparently it was at something like 170 million. We normally don't buy lottery tickets of any kind. I think since I've been 21 I've bought like 3 ever. I tend to think they are a waste of money and the chances of winning are so small you might as well throw your cash out the window. BUT-people do win! So anyway, I went and bought the ticket regardless.
On the way home from a group meeting for class, I started thinking about the money and what would happen if we were to win. I have very mixed feelings about it. Of course, the money would be amazing. I would NEVER turn it down or donate it all to some random charity...that isn't what I mean. If I were to win, it would mean living a less stressful life, and it would give me many more opportunities than are present. On the other hand though, I think the opportunities I am given are wonderful as is and I wouldn't change a thing about my life right now. So where do I stand? I'm not sure!
Oprah always says one of the things she would like to do before she dies is become a teacher, legally. She says she has never had time in her life to get her degree and it has always been something she's wanted. That just amazes me. To think, that somebody with SO much money, would want to become what I am soon to be? Isn't that crazy?! Of course, I would love to be in her shoes! Literally ;) She hasn't found enough time to do something she has wanted her entire life and I have all the time in the world to accomplish that dream of mine..just makes me think!
Given the life I am living presently, I honest to God can say that there are millions of other people in this world that deserve and/or could use that money more responsibly than Ryan and I ever could. We have what we need, plus some. We are by no means going without and though there are several things I would love to do, most mainly for pleasure, my life would not be made by money. All of my dreams and aspirations (becoming a teacher, adopting a child, getting married, etc) are things I am currently doing or could easily do without all the money. So tonight, when I go to bed, I will pray that somebody who truly needs the money or who will do good with the money, wins it.

...OLD ;)
I am officially 21 years old for the third year in a row :) I asked Ryan the other night how old women are when they stop saying their actual age? I figured now was a good time because I feel old!! Just kidding, yesterday I turned 23 years old.
Ryan had to work so my friends and I decided to go out for dinner and drinks. I couldn't party hardy too hard because I had class the next day but we sure did have fun!
As soon as Rachel got off work, her, Emily, Carrie, and I all drove up to grab dinner and drinks. Alli works in nearby, so she drove down and met us. We went to a Piano Bar called the Blue Moon. There we had dinner and drinks. I had never actually been there before so it was a new experience. Apparently all their food is "going green" and there are no fryers, no grease, etc. It was actually really good! We all started off with our own drinks but I was determined to order the "full moon" which is a GALLON drink. As you can tell by the pictures down below, we may have enjoyed it too much!! After dinner and drinks, we left town and headed back for home. We only stayed out awhile longer since it was already late and then I came home. YES-I DID make it to class this morning too!! Go me!
I got a few really great gifts from my friends and family. Nearly everyone from my family sent me a birthday card which I just love. They are so simple to send but mean so much!! My parents and grandma even put money in them..I guess I'm not that old yet ;). So cute! My fridge got so full that I had to start putting them on the entertainment center in the living room. Mom also made me brownies and dropped them off the morning of. Emily got me flowers and a balloon which were just darling.
Overall, my birthday was wonderful. I love my friends and family to pieces!! Thank you everyone for everything, you made turning 23 not quite so bad :)

...EXCITED ABOUT THE NEW BEDROOM PACKAGE!!!
YAY!!! Ryan and I FINALLY got a new bedroom package!!
Ryan and I have been looking for new bedroom furniture for close to a year now. Everything we see is either a)ugly or b) way too expensive. We are picky, I know this, but some of the stuff out there is just hideous!! Anyway-our search has ended!
Yesterday we went to Homemakers in Des Moines in search of a bedroom outfit I found online. Well, it turned out it didn't come in king, only queen. So we kept looking. They had gotten a few new beds (probably 5) in since last time we were there and we finally spotted one we liked and was under a bazillion dollars. We bought the dresser, nightstand, mirror, and king sized bed. We also had to buy a new mattress and boxsprings since we've never had a king before.
I am SO SO SO excited. We have had Ryan's bedroom furniture from college up until now. The pieces don't match and the bed is only a full sized bed!! So the extra inches from a full to a king will be nice!! I have uploaded a picture of the display set at Homemakers so you can get an idea of what it will look like. It looks black but its not, its a very deep cherry color. I will upload the actual pictures when it comes in the first of May. Yay for us!! :)

...SAD FOR BREAK TO BE OVER.
Break---where did you go?!?
I swear, this break went by faster than any other!! It just disappeared!
The first few nights of break, I took a break! I literally didn't do anything Wednesday night (I had school that day still) or Thursday night. I cleaned up a little and attempted to do laundry but that fell by the way side. Friday Rachel and I went to get my nails done and buy stuff to make Ryan an Easter basket. When we got back into town, we shared some appetizers and had a few drinks before coming home. Saturday, Ryan and I went out to Ryan's parents' for a little while after waking up. We ate some left over food, saw Brody for a few minutes, and came back into town. That night, Ryan had to work so I went out with Rachel again.
Sunday morning, to my surprise, I woke up to an Easter basket on the front porch from my parents. It was FILLED with candies, gum, chocolate, dog treats, etc. There was something special for each of us in there, so cute and thoughtful!! I love my family to pieces and I love the fact that my mom still brings me an Easter basket, bright and early, at the age of 22..isn't that sweet of her??
Since Sunday is Ryan and I's day to hang out, we opted out of Easter dinners for the day and decided to go to DM on our own, go to dinner, and then to the Funny Bone--a comedy club. We didn't have anything else to do that night so we decided it would be a relaxing type night and could classify it as "my birthday" also since he will be working that night.
I made us reservations to eat at P.F. Changs--my fav!! Dinner lasted about 2 hours and then we had to hurry to the comedy club to get our seats. Luckily, we actually got very good seats since most people are in bigger parties and we were only two. The Sandman, a hypnotist, was there that night. I had never been in the new club before (just the older one) so it was nice to see what it was like. Anyway, The Sandman was soooo funny!! Ryan and I laughed the entire time. We had perfect seats and could see everything which made it better I'm sure.
Afterwards, Ryan was hungry so we went and got him a bite to eat at IHOP. We just shared french toast platter since we had just eaten about 5 hours before hand, it was an in-and-out type thing! How does he eat so much and stay so skinny--I will never know!! On the way home, we stopped at Wal-Mart for groceries. It was either stop that night on the way home or go tonight, which neither of us wanted to do.
Once we got home, we put away groceries, showered, and watched New Moon in bed. It was the perfect Easter---stress free!!
Now, I'm left with nothing but homework and the realization that tomorrow is a new week..bummer :( BUT Ryan is home with me tonight which means some normalcy again..which I love! Hope everyone had a good Easter and a good break from school!! Summer is right around the corner :)
